This competition called for the design of a modern fire station utilizing concrete masonry as the primary building material. The facility must operate 24/7 and accommodate a variety of critical functions, including apparatus storage, maintenance, inclusive housing, administration, recreation, training, and community engagement. The design must balance complex operational requirements with sensitivity to residential context, reflecting both civic identity and neighborhood integration. Concrete masonry’s durability, flexibility, and expressive potential provide the foundation for a resilient, community-centered facility that serves as both a workplace and a symbol of public trust.
