Spanning 10.8 miles from downtown Baton Rouge to the inception of I-90, Florida Boulevard, once a thriving hub for local businesses, now faces a state of decline. In response, our group has strategically planned a rejuvenation project to transform this corridor into a vibrant and community-centric space. The proposed initiative includes the development of a greenway adorned with pocket parks, featuring local artists' creations and interactive art installations, creating inviting spaces for relaxation and fostering a creative environment for all ages. Mixed-use residential buildings, a community gym offering wellness classes, and a beauty node with salon suites for local entrepreneurs to rent are integral parts of our vision. With the primary goal of attracting more residents, supporting local businesses, and elevating education levels, our proposal seeks to establish a sense of community ownership to prevent displacement. Furthermore, our plan includes improvements in transit options, ensuring efficient and accessible transportation for all residents.
